Montessori SchoolMission Statement - The Nazareth Montessori Pre-School uses the Montessori approach in education to develop fully the student's potential through the pursuit of his interests at his own pace in a spirit of cooperation and respect for himself and his classmates.There are two separate classes: M/W/F 9:00 a.m. and T/Th 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. All teachers are state certified. Student/Teacher ratio is approximately 8:1. Our program includes individualized instruction; group activities; learning centers; cooking; field trips; reading readiness and math activities; songs; games and story time. Students must be 3 years old by September 1 and potty trained. Students are accepted in January if there are openings available. Multi-age mixing is an important aspect of the Montessori Method. Students can work at whatever level is appropriate for them and are guided by the teachers. The school year runs from September to May and follows the Nazareth Area School District calendar.
